All the looks and no effort
I have a confession. I am a huge enthusiast for layering.
In my eyes, layering during spring is a fine art. First, you have to consider an outfit which holds interchangeable possibilities to promote both ventilation and warmth. Secondly, your look has to appear cohesive even when the weather is far from it. And, on top of this (layering pun intended), you don’t want to look like you’re circumventing excess baggage fees.
But don’t be dismayed, layering can (and is!) extremely satisfying, sustainable and highly creative. When done right, you are no longer beholden to your environment, you can relish the challenge in making a sundress city appropriate or granting nightwear the freedom to see broad daylight and it presents you with a whole host of styling opportunities.
So here’s my helpful guide with some of my current KOIBIRD favourites.
This Loretta Caponi nightdress is screaming to be layered over jeans. Keep it untied so that your legs can roam free and balance with delicate ballet flats to offset an oversized jacket. My dream scenario, however: throwing it over a bikini to wear to breakfast on holiday.

For a cool update of that romantic summer dress you reserve for high days and holidays, add a logo tee (ironic slogan optional) and pair it with cowboy boots - no irony here.
Naturally, it goes without saying that you’re welcome to whip off the t-shirt for your evening soirée and slip on some mules. These Gedebe crystal ones would be perfect.

This example of layering falls under the ‘creative’ category because we know full well that this sparkly NUÉ bra won’t exactly bring warmth to your décolletage. However, if warmth is what you’re after I would like to point you in the direction of the matching bralette which would serve as a fantastic alternative to sparkly breasts.

Coco Chanel advised to take one thing off before leaving the house but I propose the opposite: be generous with your layering. This look serves as a perfect example of wearing all your finest garb at once because a) it’s a totally practical layering scheme and b) how could this not make you happy?
