Career changes; vet visits; simply leaving the house: we’ll come up with any excuse to get a new bag. Our latest? The fact that temperatures are rising and we have a few holidays in the pipeline – summer, in other words.

Honestly, though, the notion of having a summer bag isn’t a daft one. Yes, you generally wear less, but – as sunglasses, SPF and an extra layer for good measure become necessities – you carry more. Well, at least during the day.

A summer night, however, also needs a summer bag. After all, along with some unexpected jewellery and a going out top, it forms part of your attention-seeking arsenal.
